  • Spencer Cannon, APRN, DNP, CPNP-PC grew up in Salt Lake City. He recently graduated from the University of Utah DNP Program, specializing in pediatrics, and now practices at the University Pediatric Clinic and the Sugar House Health Center. His scholarly project focused on improving concussion management among youth in detention centers along the Wasatch front. He also acquired his undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Utah.

    Spencer has over 20 years of experience in Utah healthcare starting out at Community Health Centers Inc. as a Medical Records Clerk and then a Medical Assistant. He has worked the last 10 years as a Registered Nurse in cardiology, addiction medicine, and the last five years in general pediatrics at the University of Utah. His special interests include culinary medicine, environmental advocacy, and health policy.

    In his spare time, Spencer enjoys cooking, hiking and skiing the Wasatch range, and spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He is very excited to be part of the Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Utah, where he feels at home.

    Dr.Cannon is amazing! He treats your child as if they were his own. He makes sure ALL your needs are met and questions are answered l. We never feel rushed or like he is in a hurry.

    This was our first time seeing Dr Cannon, but he was amazing with my daughter. She was nervous but he quickly helped her feel at ease and helped me figure out what would help her out with clear instructions on follow up care
