Nicole Miller DNP, APRN, AGACN-BC, is an experienced acute care nurse practitioner specializing in caring for burn patients at University of Utah Health Burn Center and Burn ICU. Her clinical interest include burn care, burn surgery, critical care, frostbite treatment, laser treatment, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and complex soft tissue reconstruction. She also provides support for the Teleburn program.
Nicole completed her bachelor's degree in Health Education and Promotion at the University of Utah, where she gained valuable skills in assessing a patient's understanding of their healthcare. She then pursued her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of San Francisco, where she successfully completed an accelerated RN degree and obtained her Clinical Nurse Leader certification. With over a decade of experience as a registered nurse, Nicole furthered her education by enrolling in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Oregon Health Science University, specializing in Acute Care and Geriatrics.
As part of her MSN program, Nicole completed a project titled "Emergency Management in Step-Down Unit at San Francisco General Hospital." This project showcased her expertise in handling emergency situations and ensuring optimal patient care in a critical care setting. Furthermore, her DNP project focused on "Screening Veterans for Postoperative Urinary Retention using the Modified International Prostate Symptom Screening Tool" at the Portland VA. This research highlights her dedication to improving healthcare outcomes for veterans and her commitment to evidence-based practice.
When she's not caring for patients, Nicole enjoys time spent traveling, attending concerts, and collecting and playing old vinyl records.
