Dr. Pirozzi listens to my concerns & questions. She is also willing to coordinate with my allergist to keep my asthma symptoms at bay. I am so fortunate to have her as my pulmonologist.

I'm very impressed with Dr. Pirrozi. She took her time (this was my first regular appointment w/ her), she asked thoughtful questions, and she identified what I thought were the critical issues. Ordered some exams to eliminate some possibilities and got immediately back to me when she got results. Couldn't ask for more.

My experience is that physicians generally do not explain diagnosis and treatment as well as midlevel practitioners do, and Dr Pirozzi is no exception. I find her to be an excellent physicianand kind and patient person. She tolerates my prying information out of her very well!

Dr. Pirozzi is always amazing. It is apparent that she has familiarized herself with any labs/services I've add prior to my visit. She is engaged and active in my care. If I have issues between visits, she is responsive through MyChart or phone. I always feel confident in her review and the plan of care.

UH HOSPITALS AND CLINICS

5 out of 5 stars

Dr. Pirozzi is good natured and confident, which inspires the patient's security and confidence in her work. As a good colleague and professor, she allowed Kaden the internist under her supervision to make a preliminary assessment of my problems. Then during her examination, she made her own diagnosis of my problems. She then delivered the excellent news of my lab tests taken the month before, which proved her success. For nearly a decade, her treatments have helped me rise above my bronchitis and COPD. On her recommendation back in 2013, I took my first breathing test in the pulmonology lab, and I scored low in oxygen transfer. Due to my maladies, my lungs were transferring oxygen at only around 50% of normal into the bloodstream. In my breathing test last month, however, thanks to her prescriptions and care, my oxygen transfer has increased to the 80th percentile of normal. Dr. Pirozzi epitomizes the Hippocratic oath of the medical profession: she will go the extra mile for the good of the patient. For several years I had been dealing with exorbitant pricing of Symbicort, the only inhaler that I can use that does not leave me hoarse. However, after the participation of my Medicare and my Navitus Medicare supplement coverages, my copay for each Symbicort inhaler was $150 and $112 for generic! Dr. Pirozzi worked with the university pharmacy to obtain a grant from the manufacturer Astra-Zeneca. When that fell through, she again went to bat for me at Navitus. After her negotiations, she obtained the price $69 for each generic inhaler-finally a price that I could afford.Dr. Pirozzi merits your superlative rating: whether it be 5 stars or A+++, -she is tops! To be sure, I mention her and the other excellent doctors I have at the University of Utah. I receive there the best healthcare of my entire life. Dr. Cheryl Pirozzi an outstanding exemplar of both the U of U Hospital and Clinics and one of our significant and revered pulmonologists who has saved the planet from respiratory failure, including the Covid pandemic.
