Rong Xiao, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor (Clinical), received her medical degree at West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University and finished her first psychiatry residency at West China Hospital, Sichuan University --- the top 2 and the largest hospital in China. She earned her Ph.D. at the School of Social Work, University of Southern California. She received training from University Hospital at University of Utah as a general psychiatry resident, a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow, and a chief resident. Dr. Xiao is board certified in Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Her clinical interests include psychosis, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, international mental health and advocacy for children, young adults, and their families. Dr. Xiao is delighted to be a faculty member of the Department of Psychiatry and a clinical faculty provider at the University of Utah Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
