Jacob O. Robson,
MD, MS

Languages Spoken: English, Spanish
Dr. Robson received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) with an area of concentration in medical education. He completed his pediatric residency and a chief residency at the Boston Combined Residency Program (Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center) and his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He has been recognized with teaching awards during both his residency and fellowship and he has served on the national committee involved in developing new training standards for fellows in pediatric gastroenterology. Dr. Robson is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, working within the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Dr. Robson’s clinical interests include eosinophilic esophagitis and management of gastrointestinal issues in children with cystic fibrosis. His research interests include: 1) diagnosing, tracking and treating eosinophilic esophagitis in children, and 2) analysis of whether meeting early growth benchmarks matches up with better weight and lung function later in life for children with cystic fibrosis. Dr. Robson is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology/Nutrition. He sees patients and performs endoscopy at Primary Children’s Hospital and serves as a gastroenterologist in the multidisciplinary Cystic Fibrosis clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital. Dr. Robson remains active in medical education of trainees. He is the Course Director for the Clinical Method Curriculum, a longitudinal course in which 1st year University of Utah medical students develop physician skills, including medical history taking, physical examination and clinical decision making. Dr. Robson also directs a focused elective for 4th medical students (both internal and visiting) in pediatric gastroenterology and the outpatient elective experience in pediatric gastroenterology for pediatric residents at Primary Children's Hospital.

Research Statement
Dr. Robson received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco and completed his pediatric residency and a chief residency at the Boston Combined Residency Program (Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center).
During fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at University of California San Francisco, Dr. Robson received a master’s degree in advanced science, focusing on clinical research and biostatistics. His fellowship research thesis was on the development of a prognostic model to predict obesity throughout childhood and into adulthood, using maternal and early infant risk factors. Dr. Robson has been recognized with teaching awards during both his residency and fellowship and he has served on the national committee involved in developing new training standards for fellows in pediatric gastroenterology.
