She then completed a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in psychiatry at the University of Utah. Ms. Freund-Begley currently works as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Adolescent Day Treatment Program and Outpatient Clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital Wasatch Canyons Campus. Ms. Freund-Begley also provides direct clinical care in the Wasatch Canyons Inpatient Unit and provides psychiatric on-call coverage for Primary Children's Hospital and two inpatient settings.

    With board certifications as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Ms. Freund-Begley’s clinical interests include the care of children and adolescents with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and behavioral difficulties, as well as therapeutic models of psychiatric residential and day treatment care. In her faculty role she has focused on improving milieu interventions and transition planning between levels of psychiatric care and designed improvements in clinical education for future APRN providers. She will be improving multidisciplinary collaboration and participating as a member on a trauma focused project in her next clinical faculty work.
