  • Dr. Michelle Yang received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, completed her pediatric residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center, and fellowship at the University of Utah where she stayed on as faculty in the division of Neonatology. She has a strong interest in neonatal surgical disorders with particular emphasis on those with pulmonary hypoplasia including Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. She also sees patients in the Utah Fetal Center where she provides anticipatory guidance to families.

    Michelle Yang, MD is a faculty member of the Division of Neonatology at the University of Utah, where she cares for neonates at both the University of Utah and Intermountain Healthcare facilities. She is also a member of the Utah Fetal Center and is the neonatology lead for the upcoming IHC Pulmonary Hypoplasia follow-up clinic. Among Dr. Yang’s responsibilities is the training of pediatric residents, neonatology fellows and neonatal nurse practitioners.

    Dr. Yang has a particular interest in clinical research. Her current research focuses on neonates with surgical disorders, particularly those with pulmonary hypoplasia. This includes the congenital diaphragmatic hernia cohort, on which she has published and provided best practice management guidelines online. She is also interested in the research of novel perinatal therapies which may ultimately lead to improved clinical care. She is actively involved in both the design and conduct of clinical trials within the division.
