  • Dr. Vivek Reddy, MD, MMM, is an Associate Professor of Neurology and the Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology. He oversees the operations and strategy for the Department of Neurology. He has also served as the Department’s Chief Value Officer since 2022 and has helped drive the creation of the University of Utah Health’s Neuroscience Service Line Strategy. He joined the University of Utah in 2019 in the Vascular Division and currently serves as the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Director. He has been also actively involved in the growth of the TeleNeurology and TeleStroke Programs, expanding the reach of the Department of Neurology across six states and completing over 3,800 annual virtual evaluations per year, a 200% increase in five years. His research interests involve novel approaches for acute stroke management, including participating in a number of multicenter clinical trials that refine patient selection and treatment options to optimize outcomes.


    Dr. Reddy has also served as our Interim Chief Medical Information Officer since May 1, 2024. In collaboration with Donna Roach, Chief Information Officer, he has led our digital enablement strategy as an organization, helped expand our use of Artificial Intelligence to reduce documentation burden for our providers, and increase patient use of online scheduling tools. He has also led our Data Warehouse Team to enable the use of data to help support organizational excellence and the research missions.


    Prior to joining the University of Utah, Dr. Reddy served as the Chief Health Information Officer at Intermountain Healthcare and the Chief Medical Information Officer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He has been a national leader in Health Information Technology for over 15 years, and has been actively involved in shaping the landscape for healthcare system transformation and gaining value from technology.
