Dr. Blaschke completed her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital. She is currently a Professor and Division Chief for the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah. She is also the Vice Chair for Faculty Development in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Blaschke´s clinical interests include general infectious diseases and serious bacterial infections including streptococcal and staphylococcal infections Dr. Blaschke´s research interests include the development of rapid diagnostic testing to improve the management of bacterial and viral infections in children, and comparative bacterial genomics to discover factors that lead to severe invasive infection.
