  • Ashley L. Stuart, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor (Clinical) and Child and Adolescent Psychologist in the University Developmental Assessment Clinics (UDAC). She earned her Ph.D from the University of Utah Educational Psychology program in 2017. Dr. Stuart completed her post-doctoral training at UDAC and an APA accredited internship at the Marcus Autism Center at Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA where she specialized in early identification and early intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Stuart also completed post-baccalaureate training at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. Throughout her career, Dr. Stuart has focused on early identification of autism, specifically within the first three years of life. Dr. Stuart has also completed advanced training in neurodevelopmental disorders through the URLEND program's autism enhanced track. In addition to conducting developmental assessments for children 4 years of age and younger, Dr. Stuart founded and runs the RUBI Parent Training Program through the UDAC Child Development Program.

    I can not recommend Ashley Stuart enough! She was wonderful and interacted great with my Autistic 3 year old son. She was able to communicate about everything she was concerned about with my husband and I, she gave us so much wonderful information and resources! Not only did she make this experience great, she listened thoroughly to every concern we had, and she explained everything so well. I would absolutely recommend Ashley to any and everyone looking for a great Psychologist. Our 3 year old was so content and cheerful throughout our appointment, and she was so gentle and understanding! Thank you Ashley Stuart and UDAC for helping us along our Autism journey.

    Ashley Stuart said she was excited to see our child's name on her schedule for that day. That made me feel that she really enjoyed the first appointment with him and that she really cared to see how he was doing. It was fun to watch her interacting with him as she did the assessments. He was very responsive to her. She emphasized how well we are doing with him to help him progress. That was comforting and encouraging. She took lots of time answering our questions, explaining the results of the assessments, and giving recommendations for helping him continue to progress. Afterward she handed us 5 pages of personalized instructions pertinent to his needs and behaviors. It's like part of the manual parents say doesn't come with a child when they're born! Furthermore, she said to be sure to message her on our MyChart portal. Everyone we have interacted with there has been wonderful.

    Our child was feeling tired and she was able to spot it on and was so nice to resume the visit since he wasn't himself and the results weren't going to share his real skills. We felt bad for their time but they never made us feel like a burden. It was a great visit!
