Makes quite sure you understand what the situation is and what procedures are going to happen and why. Invites your thoughts and input to treatment options and encourages questions. Even though her surgical involvement in my case has ended, Dr Schmidt insists on remaining involved in my medical oncologic care. This is unheard of in today's medical systems! She learned from the best--Dr Chris Dechet--and has improved on his already high standards!

So obviously skilled and reassuring. I went into the OR with complete confidence. And the surgical path report proved her skill. She made sure to include my wife as one would hope to have their loving caregiver included throughout. We feel lucky to have such close access to Huntsman and a highly skilled surgeon like Dr Schmidt.
Well, she a very good person. I trust her surgical procedures. I had three general anesthesia surgeries last year in 2024 and she followed me through all that she had zoom calls with me. She mentored me and help me understand things that I have not even thought about Huntsman should be very happy to have her on their surgical team. She is just an all-around wonderful doctor and surgeon. So grateful that she's the one that took the Kidney that had cancer in it out of me I would have not asked anybody else to do it. She just takes care of her patience and the people she works for such a great facility and Doctor.

When you are told you have cancer, it is frightening and the beginning of a new journey in life. When I first met Dr. Schmidt and we discussed my cancer, she was very respectful, caring, compassionate, and I felt very comfortable with her knowledge. I like her alot but she seems rushed to get to the next person. She explains what is going on and what to expect. What I don't like and not her fault is getting my biopsy scheduled in a timely manner. I have cancer, and the scheduling department doesn't seem to care. To only have one day a week doing the biopsies is just not acceptable. Huntsman cancer institute is supposed to be one of the premier cancer institute in the country.
