  • Bruce Horowitz MD, FASN is a Professor, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. After obtaining his MD from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia in 1991, he completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University in1994. After residency, he obtained further training in research and medical education at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University, and joined the Internal Medicine Faculty at University of New Mexico and the New Mexico VA Healthcare System in 1996. In 2008, he pursued further training and subspecialty in Nephrology at the University of New Mexico, and rejoined faculty as a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at UNM in 2010. At UNM, he was actively involved in fellow education and research, particularly in the various aspects of hemodialysis. He joined faculty at the University of Utah in 2015.

    He is currently a clinical nephrologist in based in Farmington and Ogden, Utah, as well as at the Salt Lake City Utah Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Dr. Horowitz is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. His clinical interests include various aspects of kidney disease particularly diabetic nephropathy, nephrolithiasis, hemodialysis, hypertension and acute kidney injury. He brings to Utah a broad-based experience and knowledge base in general nephrology, in He is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
