Dr. Casey Fenger is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital. He provides comprehensive care for individuals with spinal cord injuries and other complex neurologic and neuromuscular conditions.
Dr. Fenger is fellowship-trained in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and his clinical practice includes inpatient rehabilitation and long-term outpatient follow-up—where he manages a diverse neurorehabilitation caseload, including spinal cord and neuromuscular disorders. His work emphasizes collaborative, patient-centered care, helping patients and families navigate recovery and maximize independence.
Before joining the faculty, Dr. Fenger completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah. His connection to the program began over a decade ago through the TRAILS Adaptive Program, where he first discovered his passion for rehabilitation and adaptive outdoor recreation.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Fenger contributes to medical student, resident, and fellow education and remains active in advancing care for individuals with spinal cord injuries through interdisciplinary collaboration. Originally from Driggs, Idaho, he is drawn to Utah’s blend of world-class rehabilitation and outdoor adventure. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and camping with his family.
