Dr. Abraham was very precise and careful about my needs. He made sure we didn't have to do more than was necessary, due to other an other illness I was getting treatment for. He was a kind and thorough.

My first visit with Dr. Abraham went well. I understood that I would need surgery, but we discussed other health issues I was facing and how to navigate them for a positive outcome. After consulting with a surgeon, I emailed Dr. Abraham about the results and asked whether I could wait for surgery, if possible to increase the chances of a positive recovery. I asked him how long before I should follow-up. He said a year. At the follow-up visit he was immediately angry that I had not completed the surgery yet. I tried to explain and remind him of what had happened previously. He seemed emotionally disconnected and became more frustrated as I tried to explain. He didn't provide me with details about the ultrasound or answer my questions. His nonverbal cues, such as posture and hand gestures, seemed to convey 'washing his hands' of my situation. He didn't want anything else to do with me. The emotional tone was so hard to navigate that I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

Dr Abraham treated me on time, actually he was early! He treated me with utmost respect and was very patient and clear in his explanations.he was recommended to me by a friend who works in the medical field and she was extremely impressed w him as well. Thx Dr. Abraham.

In past visits with Dr. Abraham, I have been very satisfied with the work done by him and his care for my needs. This time was a very bad experience. Dr. Abraham seemed overworked, out of it mentally and physically, and rushed through my ultrasound and cancelled my necessary bloodwork! Something was very wrong with this visit, and I do not trust the results of the ultrasound.

he was great but the only thing i have very bad back and i cant lay down flat it was extremley hard to lay in the posistion for him to check my neck after that i hurt the rest of the day but what he checked was fine no pain or anything its just the laying flat that about killed me lol

Dr. Abraham seems to know what he is talking about but his explanations are very scientific and not user-friendly as to where anyone can understand what he is talking about. I began my thyroid removal journey with a successful removal surgery by Dr Jason Hunt following a preliminary malignant thyroid diagnosis with a different doctor in another hospital system. Following my thyroid removal and pathology indicating malignancy and medium to high risk cancer, I was referred to Dr Abraham for post surgery treatment. I was advised that I needed to receive Radioactive Iodine treatment. Dr Abraham provided all necessary treatment and guided me to an excellent cancer free outcome. My next visit for follow-up is in one year. I am very thankful for Dr Abraham's excellent care and treatment. The university of Utah Huntsman Cancer Medical Center has been extremely easy to work with. I use My Chart and can ask questions that are usually responded to fairly quickly. Thank you!

I went to see the doctor because in my opinion things had changed. As soon as I explained my situation the doctor was very annoyed that I was waisting his time when nothing had changed and my symptoms were part of Covid and could last for a couple months. I still have trouble swallowing but I dont plan on seeing the doctor again. The doctor may be very intelligent but his bed side manner needs a lot of help in my opinion.

Other than that, he was prepared for my visit, even a little early, and was very polite and professional as he told me the history of thyroid nodules being common as we age. He did the biopsy procedure very quickly with minimal pain. He asked if I had any other questions after the procedure and I felt like he had covered everything and his clinical notes were very detailed.

I appreciated the explanation of why optional diagnostic test was not warranted & not in my best interests due to unnecessary radiation exposure.

Dr. Abraham had already reviewed my test results and was waiting in the exam room for me. He then gave thorough explanations of my diagnosis and treatment options. Even drew a picture for me.

There was a little misunderstanding at first, as to why I was seeing Dr. Abraham, but we got it worked out.

I have a severe needle phobia. I informed Dr. Abraham about this when he said we would be doing a FNA biopsy, something I was not prepared for since I was told radiology would be contacting me to schedule that and I'd be able to to make sedation accommodation plans. When I broke down in tears and uncontrollable shaking, Dr. Abraham told me "FNA biopsies are just like getting your blood drawn". Obviously now I know that's not true. Also, I have a connective tissue disorder, making lidocaine injections NOT an option as they do not numb the area enough to be numb, and I get bad reactions to lidocaine injections. This was an incredibly horrifying experience that didn't need to be. The nurse was an angel and wiped my tears and comforted me while I was feeling every moment of the FNA in my NECK. Dr. Abraham was confused about my emotional reaction, and was genuinely confused about why I was even crying. Please please remember that you don't need to be a young child to have fears of needles and procedures. Also I was told it wouldn't be painful afterwards, and it's been four days and it is still sore to the touch and difficult to move my neck comfortably.

I have seen Dr. Abraham many times. Despite the many negative reviews online about him I continue to go because I feel he is competent as a physician; however, his bedside manner is horrible. We were talking about possible surgery options and he blurted out and pointed to my chart saying I had "61 medical conditions" and that he had NEVER seen anyone with that many conditions. I told him many of them were minor. He said yes but many are "very serious." I didnt appreciate this conversation. He was out of line. I am very well aware of my medical conditions and his demeanor came off as unprofessional and arrogant. It made me anxious about my health. I have been trying very hard to keep up with all my health conditions which I have very little control over most and I felt deflated. Unprofessional and rude!

This was not my first experience at Huntsman, but was my first time with this doctor on a referral from my oncologist.

I felt that the doctor didn't believe there was correlation between my thyroid and my other problems. I didn't feel understood. I know he truly believes there isn't a correlation. But that hasn't been my experience.

He provided info & explanations & addressed concerns in a professional manner without talking down. He treated me as a person, not just a clinical patient. I felt I was heard & included in decisions.

Usually the dr just tells me about statitics or options for the problem at hand and its hard to remember everything. . Dr abraham actually drew a diagram to explain all the statistics associated with my thyroid problem explained all my optioins and gave it to me with a copy of the ultrasound results. It is a complicated problem but at least he explained it simply so I can understand my options. He was very calm and good at explaining things. He was very kind, answered my questions and didn't seem at all rushed to get finished and out to his next appointment.

Dr. Dev Abraham is kind, clear, detailed, calming and patient with answering all of my questions. He is the perfect doctor.

I felt the appointment was a waste of my time for the doctor to listen to my breathing and tell me he would see me when It's time for surgery. The two appointments I came for on this day were both zoom worthy rather than driving 5 hours and paying for a hotel to go over the complications that can happen from surgery. I still do not have a surgery date.

Dr Abraham explained the statistics but could see that I was still concerned due to a poorly conducted biopsy conducted at another facility and proceeded to do another fine needle aspiration and send it off for analysis, which allayed my fears / concerns.

I imagine most of us patients have already began some level of mental and emotional preparation for heartbreaking news when we hear we are being referred to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. But I still found it very difficult to prepare for an appointment for a diagnosis I didn't yet understand the extent of. Nobody wants to hear they have cancer, but if I have to hear it from someone, I imagine I would want it to be from Dr. Dev Abraham. He somehow was able to tell me the unfortunate extent of my cancer and my treatment options without making my whole world feel like it was crashing down. He answered the questions I didn't even know to ask, and relieved the concerns I didn't know how to put into words. I'm fortunate to have him on my side through this new battle in my life.

I genuinely don't understand the bad reviews of Dr. Abraham. He is one of the nicest, kindest doctors I have ever encountered. He is thorough and knowledgeable. He listens to me and genuinely cares.

In my opinion, Dr. Abraham didn't commit to any particular course of action. I was hoping for more direction.

I wanted the doctor to call and talk about my results with my physician husband because I couldn't ascertain from the doctor if my condition was serious enough for a biopsy. This phone call was never made and I emailed the physician and I didn't receive any answer back as far as I know. We were able to see the consultation notes and results which helped.

Dr Abraham wasn't very professional in my opinion, he talked about surgery before finding out if that is what I really needed. He spoke to me if I was a dumb little kid rather than an adult. I do not like to be talked to like I am, stupid. His abruptness and attitude was insulting. When In tried to ask questions he cut me off before I could finish. He never answered questions I thought were important. At one point he told me he didn't know why I was there. He was more concerned about who referred me to him that he was trying to answer my questions. I have always praised and complimented all who I have interacted with in the U of U Health Care System. The whole encounter with Dr. Abraham was completely unsatisfactory.

The Dr. went over why I was called for this procedure and what he might find. He explained what we might do taking a sample with a fine needle ect. When it came to the decision to use the needle he let me make the call.

Dr. Abraham always shows the utmost concern for me and spends time listening to me as well as discussing proposed treatments. I always leave feeling like he spent time and did not rush through the appointment, he is a compassionate and caring man. I deeply appreciate him.

I haven't heard anything about the results of the tests to know if I should be taking medication. I need to be better prepared with questions because I have many after I left.

Dr Abraham was a second opinion for my condition. He provided better education and options for me to decide. He completed a biopsy with significantly less pain and demonstrated great skill in doing so.

Dr Abraham did not do any preparing work before I visit his office that I was sent all my information of my Thyroid issues and surgery. But he did not aware those information and read those information during my sit his office that waste a lot of time. Also he was very subjective assumption to me.

He had his opinion of what should be done, but he was not concerned at all about my opinion. He only wanted me to consent to surgery again.

I feel like Dr. Abraham has been very clear and detailed about the procedure as well as what to expect in the future when all test results are finished.

Dr. Abraham illustrated the likely diagnosis clearly, both verbally and visually. The physical exam involved exposure and probing of my list neck area, where I have always been hypersensitive. Yet Dr. Abrahams touch was so gentle and efficient that I realized I wasnt feeling any of the usual discomfort. I would say that Dr. Abrahams demeanor is serious and focused, with an underlying kindness. That means a lot. I am not giving all top scores just randomly. I found the experience very good in all the aspects you raised.
