I felt a little like a number running through the system with this provider. He had has medical technicians do all the hands-on work. He was there in the middle and end of the appointment. Maybe it was just an off day for him- he seemed pretty detached- or maybe it was just his style. I connect better with warmer humans. He was competent and capable, though.
Erik was so present, unrushed, and thorough- I have rarely felt so respected in a healthcare setting. His calm demeanor, willingness to explain everything and answer questions thoroughly, and curiosity about my condition were exceptional.

Dr. Newman was so kind. He made my sons visit as comfortable as could be. We cant in feeling very confused and worried about a rash and left with a confident treatment plan and way forward. Dr. Newman was confident in the treatment but let us know he wasnt 100% sure of the cause. I appreciated his honesty. However within an hour of leaving the office Dr. Newman called, he had research my sons condition and had figured out what was causing the rash. I was soo impressed with the extra care he showed us. He went above and beyond to help give us the care we needed. We would definitely come back again and wish every doctor we met with showed as much care as Dr. Erik Newman did for us.

I'm not sure why I was referred to this doctor. From talking to the doctor during this visit, it became apparent that my condition was a food sensitivity but not a food allergy. He explained everything very well, but there was not very much to explain.
I still don't know what is causing my problems. Very vague explanation of things. Didn't look in my chart prior to visiting with me (aka not having a clue why I was there). I had to tell him to look at the pictures that was taken by my pcp. Not impressed with this provider.
He was very helpful in helping me understand the difference between food allergy and intolerances. He wasn't put off at all at my not knowing.
I didn't care for Dr. Newman. When my son was having a rough time, he recommended we stop the challenge to have my husband bring him back. I'm not sure what my husband would have been able to do that I can't, but I found that extremely disrespectful to me as [NAME REMOVED]'s mother. No 6 year old wants any kind of shot, and having a day full of pokes for a health challenge is not his idea of a good time. Of course he cried and didn't want to be there. I felt that Dr. Newman disregarded the fact that my son is 6 and stopping an allergy challenge to bring him back wasn't going to magically make [NAME REMOVED] want to do the testing another day. In fact, with the suggestion it made our day worse because [NAME REMOVED] then just begged and begged to come back another day to get out of the first day. Dr. Newman isn't the best with kids.
We are very thankful for Dr Newman's time and attention. He is incredibly responsive, respectful, and patient as we try to navigate our daughter's treatment.
