  • Dr. Farhana Ali-Geiger (née Ali) received her medical degree from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric residency at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and returned to San Diego for her Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at UCSD/Rady Children’s Hospital. She then pursued additional fellowship training in Advanced Nutrition with special interest in intestinal rehabilitation at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Utah. Her clinical interests primarily entail malnutrition, short bowel syndrome, and pediatric intestinal failure. She has been involved in the development of the intestinal rehabilitation program (IRP) to promote a multidisciplinary approach to the long-term management of children with short bowel syndrome associated intestinal failure, and their complex medical and nutritional needs. She serves as the Medical Director of the IRP clinic.
