The patient rating score is an average of all responses on our patient experience survey. The rating averages scores for all questions about care from our providers. The scale on which responses are measured is 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
Patient comments are gathered from our patient experience survey and displayed in their entirety. For the convenience of our visitors, some patient comments have been translated from their original language into English while preserving their original meaning as accurately as possible. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.

Dr Zone is brilliant! I began seeing him in 2010 for a condition in my mouth, which turned out to be an autoimmune condition caused by another autoimmune condition I was dealing with...Celiac disease. His approach in helping me took time, but ultimately I no longer have to deal with these situations. I still see him regularly, and he still take the time to carefully explain things to me in a way I understand them. The autoimmune situation I was dealing with ultimately resulted in liver and kidney transplants and he remains one of my medical team members who work hard to ensure I remain healthy.
The best out there!
Dr.Zone has helped me for several years. He recognized a serious problem I had that no other Doctor before him had. His experience and knowledge is second to none. The neurologists at University of Utah ask him for information on rare diseases. I am amazed at his knowledge and ethics.
Nothing but total respect and appreciation
I have been under Dr. Zone's care for 25 years. He's the best.
Dr. Zone is the best!!!!!!
Dr Zone is amazing. I've had some unique issues with my skin and he has helped through them all. He listens to what you have to say and will come up with a plan to help you through what ever needs to be addressed.
Dr Zone has been treating me for a chronic condition for 27 years. I'm more than lucky that he is in SLC as I don't know if anyone else would have known what to do for my condition when I first started seeing him. He saved me after other doctors had tried and failed to diagnose the problem. He is kind, professional, and an amazing physician - as well as a good friend at this point. I would recommend him to anyone!
Hope he doesn't retire anytime soon!
I have 2 other sisters that have lupus! We all found out at different years about issues! My sisters had gone to other dermatologist in other states for the skin problems with lupus! One sister found him ,and when me being the last to get lupus he was my savior and pulled me out of feeling I had no hope to get better! He was always there for my medical help! I have never been to another dermatologist and I'm so glad he's still there!
IÕve been a patient of Dr Zone for over a decade. HeÕs always been at the top of his practice. He has healed me from a serious dermal issue that was in my eys, mouth and ears.

Provided me with great care and healed my issues.
Dr Zone is a fantastic dermatologist. I've been seeing him since 2010 for a condition he discovered (Celiac & rare symptoms) that other physicians hadn't. He was cautious in the treatment, wanting to be sure that I had the condition he had pinpointed before beginning any extreme treatment. All the issues I had with this condition have disappeared. I'm now seeing him after having liver and kidney transplants to make sure that I don't develop any skin cancers.
Dr. Zone has been my Dermatologist for 30 years, I wouldn't know what to do without him, he's simply the BEST.

Love Dr. Zone. Over 2 decades
30 years ago, when I had a serious disease on my legs and other dermatologists (not at the U) failed to successfully treat the disease, I came to the dermatology clinic at the U in search of a diagnosis and successful treatment. I received an appointment with Dr. Zone, who was able to identify and successfully treat the disease over a period of time. He is still my doctor and had other significant treatment outcomes that greatly improved my well being.
very satisfied
Dr. Zone has been my hero in treating my DH skin condition. He is very good at listening to my concerns, suggesting other concerns and caring about my overall mental and physical health even though I am only seeing him about the skin condition. He is always cheerful and positive and encouraging, reinforcing my good outcomes and cutting me some slack for not being perfect because for my health, I have to eat Gluten Free and he knows it is no fun. He is kind and wise and patient and always cheerful.I feel very lucky to have found him to be my doctor.
Dr. Zone is the tops! My insurance changed and I had to wait 1 yr to get a new insurance to see him again. Ive been his patient for 12 yrs. would change it
Dr Zone has done for me what doctors at Dartmouth Medical School, Mass. General and Walter Reed Army Hospital couldnt do. Treat my condition to the point where I could have a fairly normal life.
Very great service.
My experience with Dr. Zone was excellent in all respects.
John Zone has been my dermatologist for 40 years and from the beginning it was obvious he loved his work. And he still does.! He also saw my husband and persevered in solving his unusual condition. He cared for and communicated beautifully with our children through their teen years demonstrating what a good doctor should be. Of course over all these years our family regards Dr Zone as a friend as well as an excellent physician.

I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Zone's care.
