  • Josephine Abraham MD, MPH is a nephrologist at the University of Utah School of Medicine. In 1981, she began her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Madras, India which she completed in 1987. After training briefly in the United Kingdom and completing a Masters in Public Health at the University of Utah, she went on to finish her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine in 2004. She continued at the University of Utah to complete a Nephrology Fellowship in 2006. Upon completion of her fellowship, she practiced nephrology for five years before returning to the University of Utah in 2011.
    She is the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine and is also the Clinical Medical Director for the Division of Nephrology. Dr Abraham is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Her clinical interests include various aspects of kidney disease particularly glomerulonephritis, vasculitis, secondary hypertension, onco nephrology including amyloidosis and renal transplantation.

    Dr. Abraham is always explains what she is doing and makes sure you understand before you leave. She is a excellent doctor and kind person. I am very comfortable having her as my doctor. I have never had any bad experience with her or her office staff.
