  • Karl Koivisto, MD, is currently a Sports Medicine Fellow at the University of Utah. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Koivisto’s clinical interests include helping patients successfully manage their musculoskeletal injuries in order to live their best possible active life as well as taking care of the acutely injured athlete, event coverage, and exploring the intersection of emergency, sports, and wilderness medicine. He enjoys hiking, trail running, and spending time with his wife, children, and dogs.
