Dr. Hastings had a medical student that was working with her that day so I was seen by her first. she seemed a little nervous and a little unsure about things. Dr. Hastings came in after and talked to with me and went over treatment. But after that she asked how everything else was going on as I had seen her to get referrals and such for my chronic health conditions which I really appreciated and was surprised by.

Dr. Hasting was very respectful to me and my mom the entire time. She was very nice and explained things in away that even a 2nd grader would understand but without sounding degrading.

Dr. Katherine Hastings is an extraordinary healthcare provider, far surpassing in her caring demeanor and broad knowledge anything I would normally expect from a busy doctor. She always makes me feel that my concerns are her concerns. Never have I wondered if any medical condition I raised was not being considerable thought. With other providers, I have sometimes felt I am being given generic responses, which is pretty much a waste of both of our time. Dr. Hastings on the other hand seems to immediately intuit what my understanding might already be and quickly tailor her guidance accordingly, quickly getting to the point, while maintaining empathy. This is unique in my 22 years of experience at the Madsen.

My above ratings are for Dr. Hastings. Dr. Hastings was efficient without feeling rushed. She made me feel like I had a say in my own care with regards to my request for labs and was very accommodating when I changed my mind and requested labs the next day. Was also impressed that she responded personally to MyChart message follow ups, usually that ends up being a resident, PA, or MA as proxy. Med student, Jacob (forgot his last name) was very thorough, but said "right on" a few times as an affirmative response to questions, which was a bit distracting. Other than that he was professional and thorough.

dr. Hastings listened to my concerns and checked to make sure I was comfortable with treatment options. I could tell she really cares about my wellbeing!

My test came back indicating abnormal squamous cells. That can be cancer! She just waited for me to email her and emailed back "we'll follow up in a year." No explanation, no comfort, nothing! Awful, awful, awful.
