Lucy E. Hansen, MD

Dr. Lucy E. Hansen is originally from Virginia and graduated with degrees in Biology and Environmental Science from The College of William and Mary. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed her Pediatric residency at Primary Children’s Medical Center through the University of Utah. She is board-certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Hansen is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah. She is in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Hansen worked on developing sustainable health care in the beginning of her career, exploring how green architecture and sustainable practices make hospitals more effective and healthy. She served on the Admission Selection Committee for the School of Medicine and was Treasurer for the Utah Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is now an Assistant Director of the Rural and Underserved Training Experience (RUUTE) and Regional Affairs for the School of Medicine. Through RUUTE, she teaches an elective for the School of Medicine called Sustainability, Medicine, and Health that focuses on the relationship between climate and health. She is also a core faculty member and teaches in the School of Medicine.
