Megan H. Buchanan, APRN, DNP, NP-C

Megan H. Buchanan, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who works for the Division of General Surgery at University of Utah Health. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as well as a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree both from the University of South Alabama. She completed her undergraduate degrees in science and nursing at Weber State University. As part of her doctoral education, she completed a capstone research project related to improvement in follow-up care and nutritional education for patients undergoing metabolic surgery.

As part of her current role, Megan is involved in the care of patients undergoing bariatric and general surgery including perioperative evaluation, laboratory monitoring of nutrients, and follow-up care. She is also a member of the surgical team, working closely with esophageal and gastrointestinal surgeons offering procedural assistance in the operating room.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys traveling with her spouse, gardening, and attending sporting events.
