Dr. Shum was so friendly, caring and patient with me and my 6 year old. She made sure I knew what tests I was going to have, what to expect with each step and was quick with the results and made sure I knew my next steps.

Dr. Mili Shum was the doctor who was able to take all the notes from all the other doctors and form a diagnosis. That was such a relief. As I said before, she is kind, caring and most important, she is knowledgeable and thorough. She double checks that I understand what she explains, she makes sure I have a plan in place if I should have a problem, and she has checked through on every possible contingency. She has made a major impact on my life going forward. I know that should I need her, she will be available. And I know what I need to do and I have the tools to do it should I have an emergency.

We saw an allergist and drive 3 hours to see her for her only to print out what seemed like a Google sheet of an elimination diet. I was pissed. It was a waste of time and money. I received no answers.

Felt a little dismissed by Dr. Shum, issues were not resolved, but because the environmental allergens were not significant, she just told us to use lotion.

For the first visit with Dr. Shum, I felt she did a really good job, even though I had botched the allergy test on accident by taking an antihistamine the night before. I was supposed to abstain from antihistamines for 5 days prior to the visit so they could get a good allergy test result. She still offered to let me do the test, but after talking to her we agreed to try next week. She was able to prescribe 4 medications and a device to help absorb one of the medications better. So it wasn't a waste of time in my opinion. I really did appreciate that at least, as I have had wasted visits with other providers before and it doesn't sit well with me. She was great at listening and very caring and concerned. I will definitely be going back and would recommend scheduling a visit with her if your allergies are bothering you.

Her concerns were surprisingly good, because I felt like she cared about my life and well being.

She's wasn't clear on a variety of things

Dr. Shum is a very competent and skilled physician. She listened carefully to my history of recent illness. Then, Dr. Shum made suggestions of how to relieve my asthma symptoms so that I could return to good health. She let me be involved in the course of action and together we came up with a plan. Dr. Shum is also very personable and spent some time with me discussing other things that were going on in my life. I feel very lucky to have Dr. Shum as my physician.

Dr. Shum did a fantastic job addressing my concerns and managing my allergy issues.

Felt a bit disappointed after my visit, was only given the option of managing symptoms that could "last years" and "potentially turn into an autoimmune disease" with a lack an sympathy.

Listened to my concerns about allergy medication and addressed them. Help me look at options for allergy treatment.

Dr. Shum listen to my problem at the first visit and suggested the treatment, also explained pro and con.

Dr Shum is a most respectful and responsive clinician.

I have no desire to ever see her again. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

Dr. Shum has gone above and beyond to make sure I know the direction that my medical care is going, what I will need to watch for, what to do when I see the symptoms and has given me the tools to proceed quickly when I have symptoms. And she is very caring.

I don't think our personalities were a match. Usually I feel really heard and understood leaving from my providers office. I didn't feel this way. I felt more confused about my problem than when I came in. In the end, there was no real solution to my problem.

Dr. Shum is (of course) very knowledgeable, has a great manner, and communicates clearly. I enjoyed our session and felt very comfortable placing my trust in her.

There seems to be a disconnect between the doctor and the nurses who give the shot and other components of this long term treatment. For example, the nurses will try to give their ideas for building up to maintenance dose, but them I hear something different from the doctor. There also have been times when I miss a call from the doctors office but there is confusion at the call center when I call back. The u of u Health system/proccesses has become very clunky from the patients point of view.

Dr. Shum spend a lot of time asking questions and making sure she had a complete history. She also followed up the next day after reviewing all my tests and called me a 2nd time. She was able to give me a better idea of what my situation medically entailed and what the next steps would be. She was very thorough and made sure I understood the information.

The nurse I met with was knowledgeable of course and gave me all the information and options I needed.

I would not reccomend Dr Shum at all.

I felt there was a disconnect in the referral and why my rheumatologist wanted me to be seen that was not understood or checked by Dr Shum. So when we were going over next steps in treatment or if there would be further testing it was a bit off having to re explain why my doctor referred me to have the allergy test they had just performed and how the results corresponded to what my Rheumatologist was trying to rule out. Overall it felt as if the communication of the referral was missing or not even reviewed which hurt the appointment and what it was to accomplish.

Dr. Shum is a knowledgeable provider that listens to me as a patient and throughly discusses options of care. She is not dismissive and it truly feels like your concerns are being taken seriously and a plan of care is being mapped out. I have recommended her to family members as I trust her as a provider.

I have an unusual problem with skin rashes and other doctors did not believe me and did not take my problem seriously even though it affects my ability to sleep and work. Dr Shum listens to me and has really worked with me to look into and address my skin rashes. I feel much more hopeful being cared for by Dr Shum, since she is an expert who cares about helping me and doesn't just write me off as a hypochondriac.
