Tanita Brown has been an occupational therapist for over 20 years, with experience in the treatment of individuals with neurological conditions including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and multi-trauma, as well as, experience in upper extremity orthopedic conditions with a focus on wrist and hand conditions. Tanita graduated from WITS Medical School, in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1995, with a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Tanita currently works on the spinal cord injury team, and supports the University of Utah TRAILs program (Therapeutic Recreation and Independent Lifestyles Program). The TRAILS program helps people participate in adaptive outdoor recreation activities including swimming, kayaking, skiing, yoga and hand cycling, and provides education on various wellness topics. Past experience includes acute inpatient rehabilitation, neuro ICU, outpatient pediatrics, school based therapy, community re-integration programs, hand clinic, home health, travelling therapy and sub-acute rehabilitation.
