Therapy Groups for All Ages

The Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic, in partnership with the Neurobehavior HOME Program, offers social skills groups for people with autism and other developmental challenges. We offer multiple groups across the life span starting with groups for children ages 4–7.

Our group options are divided into the following ages:

  • Children ages 4–7
  • Children ages 8-12
  • Teens
  • Young adults
  • Adults

We have groups that run throughout the year and other specialty groups that are only available a few months a year.

Social Skills

Our social skills groups focus on critical skills needed to interact with others, including:

  • Basic interactional skills,
  • Conversation skills,
  • Specific friendship skills,
  • Emotional and social reciprocity, and
  • Problem solving.

Interacting With Others

We also address other issues that impact social interactions, such as:

  • Anxiety,
  • Distress tolerance,
  • Executive functioning,
  • Prioritizing,
  • Handling disappointment,
  • Flexibility,
  • Impulsivity,
  • Planning,
  • Hyperactivity, and
  • Motivation.

Depending on availability, you will be asked to schedule a group intake with the group coordinator to assess appropriateness of group, gather information and set expectations.
