Hospital-Quality Care Where You Live
The Huntsman at Home™ service brings the high standard and excellence of care you get at Huntsman Cancer Institute to you at home. The service allows patients to leave the hospital sooner or avoid going in at all. Providers visit you in your own home to give these types of care:
Acute Care
- We meet you at home the day your doctor refers you.
- We manage and treat symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or dehydration.
- We assess and treat issues caused by your cancer or cancer treatments.
Supportive Care
- We visit you after you leave the hospital to monitor and help manage and control your symptoms.
- We visit you often at home to help you take care of yourself and gain back your function, including help from a physical therapist.
- We coach family and caregivers to help you at home.
Palliative Care and Hospice
- We continue your Huntsman Cancer Institute care connection.
- We give ongoing support and input to manage symptoms and keep you comfortable.
- We help you stay at home so you can do the things you enjoy and be with people you love.

About the Care Team
Huntsman at Home(TM) teams include Huntsman Cancer Institute doctors and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). We partner with Community Nursing Services for these specialties:
- Registered nurses and nursing aides
- Physical therapists
- Pharmacists
- Social workers
Your care is always under the direction and support of your Huntsman Cancer Institute doctor.
How We Can Help You
Your Huntsman Cancer Institute doctor will refer you to Huntsman at Home™. Then we visit you at home or in the hospital to plan support. These are ways we help once you are home:
- We can visit you often to make sure you are well cared for.
- We are available 7 days a week from 8 am-8 pm.
- We have a team member on call after hours to give advice over the phone.
- We can arrange after-hours visits for urgent needs.
Who Can Use the Service
Huntsman Cancer Institute patients can use Huntsman at Home™ if they
- Have a doctor’s referral
- Live within 20 miles of Huntsman Cancer Institute
- Need special support and monitoring
- Have a doctor’s referral

- Live within 20 miles of Huntsman Cancer Institute's hospital on the University of Utah campus OR
- Live in one of these rural Utah counties: Carbon, Emery, Grand
