When a person is diagnosed with cancer, concerns about treatments and side effects, hospital stays, and medical bills are common. Patients and their loved ones may also worry about caring for their family, working, and managing daily life.
Your health care team can answer your questions and talk to you about any concerns. They can help with side effects and keep you informed of all your treatments, test results, and future doctor visits.
Huntsman Cancer Institute offers many ways to support patients, caregivers, and loved ones.
Specialties & Services
Financial Advocates
Patient Financial Services help patients understand their insurance benefits and requirements, look at options if their insurance doesn't cover a treatment, and answer any other questions about billing and insurance.
Supportive Oncology & Survivorship
The Supportive Oncology and Survivorship (SOS) team provides support to patients during and after cancer treatment. We work with patients to help enhance quality of life throughout the cancer journey.
Wellness & Integrative Health Center
The Wellness & Integrative Health Center offers classes and services to foster lifelong well-being for people affected by cancer. Wellness & Integrative Health Center services are open to current and former Huntsman Cancer Institute patients by appointment.
Social Workers & Support Groups
Patient and Family Support social workers help patients deal with these feelings and concerns. Huntsman Cancer Institute also offers many support and education groups for patients and loved ones.
Rehabilitation Therapy Services
Rehabilitation Services staff help patients before, during, and after their cancer treatment. Services include occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech and language therapy.
Acute (Urgent) Care
Huntsman Cancer Institute Acute Care (HAC) offers same-day care for cancer patients who need quick treatment for side effects and other issues. The HAC team examines your health problems, answers questions, and gives treatment.
Patient Navigators
It can be hard for cancer patients to find their way through the health care system. Patient Navigator services at Huntsman Cancer Institute can help. All patient navigator services are free.
Cancer Learning Center
The Cancer Learning Center is your source for free cancer information. Our library contains information about many cancer topics and cancer information specialists are available to help answer any questions you have.
Patient & Family Housing
Patient & Family Housing provides convenient and affordable accommodation. You can expect top-notch amenities, affordable prices, and convenient public transportation options.
Spiritual Care & Religious Services
Chaplains and spiritual care volunteers are available to visit patients and their loved ones in the hospital. You can visit the chapel and meditation room on the 5th floor of Cancer Hospital South. Different religious services are held throughout the week.
