Diabetes Complications Program
If you have diabetes, you may be at high risk of developing eye complications. The Diabetes Complications Program provides retinal testing to identify early signs of complications. We use non-invasive Fundus Photography to check your eyes for these complications. Each test takes less than 15 minutes to complete. By detecting complications early, you’ll be able to find proper treatment more quickly.
This program is offered at the Utah Diabetes and Endocrinology Center in partnership with Moran Eye Center and University of Utah.
Who Performs the Test?
A trained medical assistant performs the Fundus Photography test.
Who Can Be Tested?
Anyone with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes can be tested if they meet certain criteria such as:
- You have not had an eye exam for over a year.
- You experience vision changes or new floaters or flashes.
To see if you qualify for testing within the Diabetes Complication Program, please call 801-587-3937.
