Everyday Mindfulness

This fourweek course, based on the eightweek Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, teaches you how to develop mindful awareness and live with greater health and happiness.  This class is for anyone new to mindfulness or for people seeking to deepen their practice. 

Course Highlights

Guided practices include sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating, and mindful communication.

Benefits of practicing mindfulness include improved attention, memory, and emotional regulation. You'll also gain greater compassion, reduced physical and psychological symptoms, and enhanced stress management skills.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR is an eightweek intensive program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The goal of the program is to build mindful awareness and foster health and growth. The eightclass program includes an orientation and a full-day retreat between weeks six and seven. This program is ideal for people seeking tools to manage stress, improve health, and experience greater joy and connection. 

Practices include sitting meditation, body scans, gentle yoga, and mindful communication.

Flourishing in Medicine

Flourishing in Medicine is a oneday retreat for health care providers designed to reignite passion for health care through mindfulness, storytelling, and strength-based strategies. Participants will learn to reduce stress, enhance patient care, and strengthen connections with colleagues and patients. 

Hosted by the University of Utah's Resiliency Center, this immersive workshop has been shown to provide several benefits: 

  • Improve burnout scores
  • Enhance presence and attentiveness
  • Foster deeper connections and curiosity
