Log Into MyChart Before Your Virtual Prenatal Appointment

To use virtual prenatal appointments, you will need a MyChart account.

MyChart lets you to record and enter important measurements during your pregnancy so your doctor can see them.

48 hours before your appointment, you will enter the measurements from the blood pressure cuff, fetal heart doppler, and weight scale into MyChart so that your doctor can view these during your Prenatal Virtual Visit.

Is My Health Information Private?

MyChart keeps your data private and confidential so you don’t have to worry about anyone accessing your personal health information.

Starting Your Prenatal Virtual Appointment in MyChart

  1. In your web browser, go to https://healthcare.utah.edu/mychart
  2. If this is your first time accessing the site, click Activate Your Account to create your MyChart account and log in. If you’ve already created an account, enter your MyChart ID and password; then click Sign In.

Enter Your Measurements Before Your First Appointment

Before your Prenatal Virtual Visit, you'll need to enter numbers that record your:

  • blood pressure,
  • weight, and
  • fetal heart rate (your baby's heart rate)

into MyChart.

How to Get Started in MyChart

To get started, log into MyChart.

  1. Click on the Visits button on the top navigation menu
  2. Click Appointments/Admissions underneath the Visits dropdown

Enter Your Measurements in the Prenatal Virtual Visit Questionnaire

Up to 48 hours before your appointment, you can use eCheck-in and fill out the prenatal questionnaire to enter your numbers. You'll need to enter your blood pressure, weight, and your baby's fetal heart rate. This step is required before you join your virtual visit.

Click on eCheck-in to enter your blood pressure, weight, and your baby's fetal heart rate.

48 hours before your appointment, you'll also see a box pop up reminding you to enter your numbers using eCheck-in.

You'll be taken to a screen called Pre-Visit Checklist: Prenatal Virtual Visit Questionnaire (see below). Enter and submit your measurements on this screen.

When you're finished, click the Continue button.

After you submit your numbers, you can click on the link below to read more instructions on how to start your Prenatal Virtual Visit. To read instructions, click on the link that says If you've never joined a MyChart virtual visit, please take a few minutes to go over these instructions, so you'll be ready to connect.

Using the MyChart App for Your Prenatal Virtual Visit

We want to make sure you have the best experience possible during your Virtual Prenatal Care visit.

Most patients find it easiest to download the MyChart App to their smart phone or tablet and connect through the app.

Visit the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store to install the MyChart App.

How to Use the MyChart App for Your Prenatal Virtual Visit

The screenshot below shows how you check in and what you need to do before your Prenatal Virtual Visit starts.

Test Your Device

As soon as your Prenatal Virtual Visit is scheduled, you'll see a box pop up under your appointment that will let you test the hardware in the device you'll be using for your appointment (see below).

You can test your device to make sure it's working up until 15 minutes before your appointment.

15 minutes before your appointment, the notification box (see above) will turn into a button that will let you start your Prenatal Virtual Visit or start the eCheck-in process if you haven't already done it.
