Dr. Jason Hunt is a nationally and internationally recognized head and neck surgical oncologist whose clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid diseases. He has performed thousands of thyroid and parathyroid operations, providing extensive expertise for both routine and complex cases. He works within a multidisciplinary care team with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists to ensure coordinated, comprehensive treatment.

He represents HCI on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Thyroid Cancer Guidelines Committee and developed HCI’s Thyroid Cancer Treatment Planning Conference to support personalized, team-based management. He has provided invited lectures throughout the US and internationally on the topic of thyroid cancer and parathyroid surgery. He sees patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).

Dr. Hunt serves as Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah. He has helped expand and strengthen head and neck cancer care at the University of Utah since 2006. His leadership roles have included:
