Jonathan D. Birnkrant, MD

Jonathan Birnkrant, MD, Assistant Professor (Clinical), earned his medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH. He completed triple board training in the Brown Medical School – Rhode Island Hospital Combined residency program in Providence, RI, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Birnkrant is board certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the ABPN. His interests include mood disorders, community outreach, and education. Before joining the Psychiatry faculty, he worked for ten years in residential, inpatient, and private practice settings in Rhode Island, Oregon, Montana, and Colorado. Dr. Birnkrant practices as an inpatient psychiatrist at the University of Utah Huntsman Mental Health Institute. He is the 2020 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching award from the School of Medicine's General Psychiatry Resident training program.
