The patient rating score is an average of all responses on our patient experience survey. The rating averages scores for all questions about care from our providers. The scale on which responses are measured is 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
Patient comments are gathered from our patient experience survey and displayed in their entirety. For the convenience of our visitors, some patient comments have been translated from their original language into English while preserving their original meaning as accurately as possible. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.

My concern was the reluctance of other facility neurosurgeons being hesitant to check and or adjust the shunt in my brain. The doctor resolved the problem very quickly by obtaining the tool used to check and adjust my shunt. In addition to this she offered for me to come anytime to have it checked or adjust it. That is truly a first in being treated so positively. Dr Schmidt 18 years ago installed the shunt and I have always been treated very well by the University of Utah
I have had the Very Best experience with Dr Menacho. I feel Very comfortable with her judgment and experience. I have seen other Doctors at another Hospital and just no comparison. Dr Menacho Team has been in constant contact on my condition which I really appreciate! Keep up your Good Work! My Family Thanks You aswell
What can I say, Dr Menacho is a great neurosurgeon. She removed a menengioma from my skull that caused brain swelling and a siezure that broke my back. Six weeks later my brain is fully healed according to MRI scans.
She is amazing! I am grateful to be seeing her.
She is the best,!!!
I was sent out to the U of U hospital by live flight with a brain tumor the size of a gulf ball and Dr. Sarah Menacho was appointed to be my Doctor. Boy was I glad. She is a very knowledgeable brain surgeon and everything turned out great. She told me before surgery that I had a real good chance of being speech impaired after I got out of surgery, but due to her knowledge of knowing what she is doing , I came out of surgery with a miracle. I was not speech impaired or anything. You couldn't even tell that I had even had surgery. If I ever have questions about anything she is very good to call you back and talk to you. If anyone ever needs brain surgery I highly recommend Dr. Sarah Menacho to do it for you. She is a very good brain surgeon.
I've had two surgeries with her as my surgeon. She was very kind and empathetic to my situations. She clear in my treatment and what to expect. She was also very kind and caring to my family, making sure ifvthey needed anything. She is also always happy and positive even when she is giving not great news. I have and will always recommend and use her for neurosurgeon.
Very nice, easy to speak to and gave us a great report that there would not have to be surgery that we were do worried about.
She was attentive and took time to explain the condition and treatment plan.
Dr. Sarah T. Menacho is a kind, patient and very professional doctor. She takes her time explaining important health issues with the patient. I feel fortunate to have Dr. Menacho as one of my health providers. [NAME REMOVED]
Highly recommended
Dr. Menacho and get staff are always wonderful. They are always on time and really listen to you and your questions. I feel very valued as a patient with her.

Class act and really cares about her patients
First visit. I have confidence that Dr. Menacho is the right doctor for my needs.
Dr. Menacho is an amazing surgeon and compassionate doctor. I appreciate her so much.
She was honest and we appreciated it.
My family and I are so thankful for the care Dr Menacho gave me. She made me feel heard about my concerns of VP shunt failure and talked me though my care plan every step of the way. Being from Idaho Doc and her team made me feel I was in the right place with the best care possible. Thank you for all you do!
We were super lucky to have Dr Menacho do my brain surgery twice !
Dr Menacho and her staff gave incredible care. Very thorough, professional at the same time are 'real'. I hope to never need her service again, but if I do I wouldn't think twice about it. Top shelf Dr and top shelf care!
This doctor was way ahead of me. Everything she discussed was anticipated. She answered questions before I even came up with them. It's obviously a reference to her vast experience. It was very well done. Only one thing she brought up that I had an issue with and it didn't concern her.
Didn't listen, care, or so anything and clearly doesn't want to treat me as a patient. That has been obvious over the last year. I will be finding a new doctor who cares and actually listens
Excellent doctor
Dr. Sarah Menacho professionally and courteously helped me come to conclusions and decisions on how to proceed in my care. She was prepared for the appointment and had obviously already looked at my test results and symptoms. She made it easy to talk to her.
Dr. Menacho took the time to be sure we know what our options were. She expllained what will happen as well as what will not happen. She also explained what the unknowns were. We felt like we were part of the process, not just along for the ride.
Dr. Menacho put me at ease and clearly explained my condition. I felt she heard and understood my concerns, giving me information and making sure I had a clear plan for any future care. She gave me assurance that I appreciated.
Dr. Menacho is kind and a good listener. I always feel like she takes the time to ask questions and find out about my experience. She includes me in decisions and gives me good advice. She is very knowledgeable and recommends the best solutions she can considering the difficult situations we have faced.

Dr Menacho is top notch. She was very concise and direct in answering questions. We got to our appointment early but they took us right in and Dr Menacho came in immediately after the nurse finished taking vitals. It was a very positive experience
One of the very best. Totally trust her.
I trust this Doctor with my life, and would do so again if surgery is required.
Very impressed especially for the first time. Her explanation and estimated time line was very helpful even though I know it's all dependent on recovery and safe surgery¿. 1st priority. Which is always good to know and comforting.
Dr Menacho and the entire staff at the neuroscience center are amazing. Dr Menacho took great care of my issues in a timely manner, after I was brushed off by other doctors. Her and her staff we're not only great with the surgery but the follow up care was top notch with clear helpful communications returned quickly. I would recommend Dr Menacho to anyone who is looking for a sincere to the point dr who cares about her patients.

Dr. Menacho is a very talented surgeon. She did a great job removing my wife's brain tumor. It's obvious she is a very caring doctor and her dedication is unmatched.
Dr. Menachem is brilliant and caring. She is a straight shooter and cares more that the patient knows exactly what is going on than keeping the actual confidential from them Knowing exactly what was going on brought us peace in a scary time
Dr. Menacho is above amazing. She treats me like a real person, not just a number.

I enjoyed chatting with Dr. Menacho who took over patient care from Dr. Schmidt upon his retirement. She went over everything very clearly and efficiently.
Dr. Menacho spent a great deal of time patiently answering all of my questions.
I trust Dr Manacho and value her input.
