Kirsten Stoesser, M.D., is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who welcomes all ages to her broad-spectrum primary care practice. Dr. Stoesser graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School, after which she completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Utah. This was followed by a fellowship in Family Medicine Obstetrics at the University of Utah. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, and is the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency. Her clinical practice is at Sugarhouse health Center, where she provides care in the areas of women's health, prenatal care, men's health, newborn, child, and adolescent care, senior care, LGBTQ+ care, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and skin conditions. Research Statement
Dr. Stoesser is a family physician as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, and is the Associate Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency program. Her clinical practice is centered at Sugarhouse Clinic, where she cares for patients within the full scope of family medicine. She has responsibilities teaching resident physicians, medical students, and physician assistant students. Her academic and research interests include women's health and obstetric care, maternal mental health, patient safety, transgender care, clinical quality improvement in the areas of hepatitis C care and safe opiate use, procedure training for residents, evaluation of competency in residents, training residents as physician leaders, and resident wellness.
