  • Victoria Serpico is a board-certified nurse practitioner (APRN) within the Division of General Surgery. She received her Master’s degree and nurse practitioner certification at the University of Utah. In 2008, Ms. Serpico joined the division with a specialty in the area of breast surgery and diseases. Ms. Serpico provides comprehensive care for those patients with breast cancer, benign breast disease, and surgical patients.

    Ms. Serpico has an educational background that includes women’s health, nutrition, emergency and surgical nursing. She also is instrumental in educating nurses, advanced practice clinicians, medical students, and residents in treating benign breast disease and the surgical breast oncology patient. She also participates in research and program development.

    Ms. Serpico spearheaded development of the breast cancer educational video in collaboration with Dr. Neumayer, which led to hospital wide implementation of this method of patient education. She has publications in the American Journal of Surgery and The American Surgeon and is currently the primary investigator in a project to develop a pain protocol to enhance the hospital experience for patients undergoing breast surgery.

    Ms. Serpico feels that the work she has done is especially rewarding as it allows for so many opportunities to improve the quality of patients’ lives that are undergoing treatment for breast cancer and survivorship.

    Victoria is an excellent provider of women's health ! She is a gem of a person. She is extremely caring and works to deliver the best care possible. She is thorough in her exams and explains treatments, whys and offers solutions! I highly recommend Victoria and can't say enough good about Victoria as a person and health care provider.

    Victoria Serpico was professional and respectful in interactions with me. She listened well, answered all of my questions, and outlined well plan for visit. She had an associate with her she was helping to train in examining patients such as myself and did an excellent job. in conveying how to conduct medical interview and respectful breast exam. Also went through list of preventative care items for woman of my age to make sure I was attending to those.
