That’s partly why Amy Fenton, internal medicine nurse at University of Utah Hospital, was so excited to sit down one day in mid-April of 2019—for a chair massage, no less. She had no idea that chair massage would lead to an early-stage diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma, a time when cancer treatment is typically more effective.

Despite all the Struggles: Finding Hope through Art

When developing plans for Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), Jon and Karen Huntsman saw art as an important part of their vision—“to make sure the environment would be as healing as the medicine.” HCI is home to a museum-quality collection of original paintings, sculpture, and pottery—a total of approximately 2,500 pieces. The significance of this is most appreciated knowing that the entire collection comes solely from donation.
