Therapy & Medication Management

The Downtown Behavioral Health Clinic offers outpatient services for adults, children, and teens. It is staffed by board certified psychiatrists, board certified triple-board practitioners (physicians who specialize in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry), advanced practice nurses, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, and senior residents.

Services

  • Therapy for adults, children, and teens
  • Medication management for adults, children, and teens (helping you decide if medication can help you better manage your condition)
  • Neuropsychological testing for all ages

Neuropsychological Testing For Adults & Children

Because mental health diagnoses are so complex, they can be hard to identify because their symptoms are usually subtle. Our qualified staff offers neuropsychological testing for patients of all ages, including our geriatric adults (adults over 65) and children.

Neuropsychological testing is formalized testing that can identify conditions that are usually misdiagnosed like ADHD, and diagnose psychological conditions like:

  • learning disabilities,
  • autism, and
  • psychosis.

Your psychiatrist, primary care physician, or therapist can give you this type of testing to help decide the best treatment plan for you.

We also offer neuropsychological testing for patients staying in our inpatient facilities.

Rapid Access Consult Clinic

One-Time Psychiatric Assessment

Sometimes, getting in to see a psychiatrist can’t happen soon enough. Our Rapid Access Consult Clinic gives patients quick access to a one-time psychiatric assessment with a psychiatrist.

We see adults, children, and teens.

Patients must have a referring doctor who is willing to complete the referral form. Your referring doctor must also be willing to receive and implement treatment recommendations from our psychiatrists.

We offer appointments on Wednesday mornings. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do not schedule appointments more than 14 days out.

Appointments last for 50–60 minutes.

Please note:

  • This is NOT a walk-in or crisis clinic. You must call to schedule an appointment. You also must meet the criteria listed above.
  • We cannot fill out detailed forms or provide letters, such as disability forms or letters for the court.
  • This is a consultation visit only. Our psychiatrist will not prescribe medications during your visit. If you need medication, please contact your referring doctor.

For questions or to schedule an appointment, please call 801-585-1212.
