Treating Pediatric Pancreatitis
University of Utah Health pediatric gastroenterologists work in the Intermountain Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic providing comprehensive GI care as part of this multi-specialty clinic.
The Intermountain Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic is one of the largest such clinics in the country with our gastroenterology team providing full GI care, including:
- nutrition support,
- endoscopy, and
- liver disease screening.
Additionally, our division is involved with the multi-center NIH INSPPIRE (INternational Study Group of Pediatric Pancreatitis: In search for a cuRE) consortium study though the work of Dr. Pohl. This study is determining the natural history of pediatric pancreatitis, including potential genetic mechanisms and therapeutics for this disease.
We are a National Pancreas Foundation Center. The National Pancreas Foundation provides hope for those suffering from pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer through funding cutting edge research, advocating for new and better therapies, and providing support and education for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals.
